Default Hooker headers claims another victim

I just installed Hooker "cookers" and thought that I did a good job of preparing by wrapping all sorts of stuff on the passenger side with thermal barrier stuff, but an HVAC line fell victim after about 5 miles on the maiden voyage of the headers.

Do I just get another set of lines and try to wrap them better or is there some sort of part/kit that has longer lines that can be re-routed?

Although my HVAC lines are close, I've had no issues. I've considered converting to AN teflon braided stainless. There was a company offering kits, but their name escapes me. I've also considered using "header wrap" on the lines themselves, and still think this would be a reasonable solution. Perhaps this winter when the car is up in the air, with the inner fender off. For now the heat shielding materials seem to be doing their job.

No issues with mine. They are jet hot coated so that may help. 3 yrs. or so on the car and never a problem but I did have to get creative with the hoses.

I had to cut off about 1/2-3/4" from the heater hoses at the firewall. This pulled them closer to the FW. I then took the clamp that mount to the FW for both hoses and mounted that another inch or 2 toward the pass. side of the car. This pulled the HH's away from the headers a little more.

I bent the one AC hose at the metal pipe so it is away from the header but it is close...maybe 1/2" away. The AC hose is also covered with Heat wrap in this area.

Replace that Tee with something made out of metal like I did and never worry about it again. also, I would put a new flow control valve on there. they are plastic like the tee and become brittle and can break (mine did) and leave you stranded. don't try to go without the restrictor or replace with something else, that part is a tricky little item with a spring and valve in there.

Looks like it was not the tee, it was the restrictor...I think. It was a plastic item at the end of the lower heater hose from the water pump. The plastic piece was between a crimped on fitting (similar to an A/C hose crimp) and then a regular spring clamp on the other side.

Since I use an electric water pump, I guess that I don't really need the restrictor anyway? So I bought some 5/8 hose, some brass couplers, and some clamps...spliced in a patch. I added some length to change the routing away from the cookers a bit more.
