Questions about 9C1 Dash Cluster

Can any one tell me the difference between the dash cluster that has the digital speed display in a 1994 Caprice wagon and a 9C1 dash cluster? Is there differences between the 9C1 dash clusters from year to year? Is there a link to information about installing a 9C1 cluster in a 1994 Caprice. Is it worth the work?

I have a 9c1 certified cluster in my 95 wagon and it was just plug and play.

The 9c1 cluster were "certified" so when the cops pulled people over, they could say their speed was dead-on. Only cluster that won't work is a '96 Impala SS with the analog gauges.

So let me ask. I have a 96 9c1. I changed the whole dash cluster out cause the odometer was stuck. A new one was purchased and given with the car. I installed it no problem. Plug and play. So is it still "certified" or would it be off cause I installed another cluster from who know what car. Thanks

From what I remember (going back to the 90's when I was in the scouts) the clusters were certified by using a tuning fork (scout leader/police lt. said this was how it was done) before the digital clusters. Not sure how they do it nowadays, but the speed will be perfectly fine, unless there is a major gear/wheel/tire change. Others can chime in with more specifics.
