I get right about 15mpg around town, never see more than 10-15 hiway miles at a time. I drive it with 'spirit' lol. It's see's 4500-5000 rpms at least once just about every time I drive it, just to make sure things stay clean...I know, old school thinking, but it's fun anyway's. A/C is running 90% of the time. 120+k mile's, don't think it's ever had a tune-up, I haven't done one in the 5+ years I've owned it. I run Chevron as the car seem's to run better on it. Hell, I haven't even changed the fuel filter in almost 30K miles.

I just got 20 mpg on a 255 mile freeway trip with my 4.10's. Did better than I expected with average speed around 65. Has a 92 octane tune, 160 t-stat, home depot intake mod and hockey puck. Everything is in good working order and I have synthetic fluids front to back. I also have 235/75 tires at 28.9" to help a little with gearing. Oh, and just for comparison- I only get 12 mpg with 100% city driving with very short trips.

I'm still getting 15ish, very disappointed, the only thing that really changed when going from the '95 to the '88 was the tune, so that's got to be it. I was really expecting to continue to get 20 mpg on my commute, if I'd known it would drop to 15 I don't think I'd have bothered with the swap.

Angry Mine Sucks Worse...

I am seeing 12.2 MPG consistently. I'm in VegaSS and currently driving half of the time on the 215 beltway (highway driving) and half city. When I was driving all city about 9 MPG fairly consistently. I have been trying to baby the car for a LONG time now because of this but it seems to run that way regardless of being easy on it or "racing" it. See mod list in signature. I run 91 and 87 octane fuel from well, mostly ARCO (BP) and Rebel. I have no idea what could be causing this. No CEL's thrown. Within a year I've replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, PCV and made a flex adapter hose for it (as it melted through and caused a CEL) keep air filter clean and changed the front O2 sensors (as she has no cats or downstream O2's) for maintenance and possible MPG troubleshooting.
Any thoughts feel free to post here of PM me.
