Keep the 2.56s so you can run the 1/4 out in 2nd gear and avoid 3/4 problems and get great gas mileage!

X2.. at least go with 3.08's if it's a bracket car, and I can't remember what ratio drops you to the different carrier (2.73 IIRC, but not sure). My personal experience with 3.42's is that it helps off the line on a stock converter, but eats gas everywhere else. My old 94 1A2 would get 24-26 on trips to PA (22 with a 4x8 open trailer). Another former MISSL member couldn't get 19 highway with 3.42's..
With a 100-105mph trap you should be hitting ~6200-6500 with a 3.08 and 255/50-17 (27") rubber in 2nd gear..
