Default Weird problems with right side headlight/turn signal

Hi,

I'm having a weird problem that started when I noticed that the right headlight came on really dim and on my cluster the right turn signal is solid along with shows high beam faintly. While it is like this I can't use the right turn signal but the right turn signal works fine when the lights are off or when switched to "turn signal lights only" (can't think of the proper term for that mode). Thinking it was the right headlight going bad, I replaced it but still does the same thing and checking the right turn bulb (in the headlight assembly) I can see it is on but very dim and replacing that bulb gives me the same results.

Any ideas on what can cause this?

Start with checking the ground next to the battery on the inner fender for corrision or tightness

Your description leads me to a hot wire problem on that light, not the ground. The blinker is solid because the circuit is not drawing enough current. Since it works when the headlights are off, it is not the ground. You could have a corroded connector, or a malfunctioning switch.

Well now it seems to go off and on even with the headlights being off at rare moments so would it be the dimmer switch causing this?

If it was the dimmer, both lights would act the same. It is not a global problem. The turn signal would not act up if it was the dimmer.

A further thought, is that there may be a ground fault somewhere else on the car, that is causing another circuit to find a ground through the lights on that side of the car. My brother had a faulty engine ground...When he turned the switch to start, the headlights would come on dim. Check the engine grounds.
