Anybody have a good way of stripping small parts of powdercoating without damaging surrounding areas of powder?
Reason I ask is the powdercoating place powdered inside of the tapered bore for the tie rods and ball joints on my spindles. Just curious is there is any easy way to strip that out aside from sticking a file or sand paper in there...or if any of you guys have experience with just leaving it in there with no bad results? I just dont want to do something that causes a chain reaction of peeling over time from that area outwards lol They also blasted the bearing surface causing me to have to sand it down with some 2000 grit to get the bearings to fit. I just assumed it was common sense not to do that but I guess not. I had the spindle shafts taped up too so I thought they'd get the hint that I was trying to protect it from damage. It even appears they blasted the threads I drilled/tapped for the big brake kit...like they just stuck the sandblaster nozzle in the threads and went to down lol. Jeez...at least I can say they do a thorough job.

A brass wire brush, like one for a gun barrel, on a dremel, or drill would cut the powder coat, and not cut the iron. The other stuff is just stupidity on the part of the powder coater. You have to explain everything to everybody, and get their acknowledgement before allowing them to proceed.

Yeah use the dremel to basically polish out the excess powdercoat. It's easy enough to use heat resistant rubber plugs or tape things off so that's definitely an issue. I would have had them fixed from the powdercoating place if they're local.
