Default Preferred brands for pads, shoes, and rotors?

Newbie question: ...... I just bought a 1994 RMW. Stock wheels and tires. Are there preferred brands for brake components? My wife will be driving the car, and she will not be driving hard, so I don't need performance parts.

I'm certainly not one to relegate this to "do a search" (particularly since virtually everything's been wiped out), but it would be difficult to get a handle on the exact parts you want based on the recommendations of "x" different people telling you what's best based on "y" different needs and experiences vs. yours.

You may want to include what you want to budget this at and how deep you want to go into the brake overhaul. Thanks for stating this will be for a daily driver you want to assure is safe.

That said:

Rotors (Choices have gotten tougher as foundries are now overseas...)- Raybestos, Delco, Centric, feel free to add.

Pads (do you want ceramic or semi-metallic? I'll assume SM...)- Performance Friction, Hawk, Raybestos, feel free to add.

Flexible lines (If yours are original and this is wifey's car, might I suggest...)- Earls stainless braided, replacement OEM, feel free to add.

Duralast Pads, and Rotors. Bed them in, and call it a day.

Many on the board sing the praises of the Duralast parts.

My local supplier carries Wagner parts and I've had no troubles. I used the ThermoQuiet semi-metallic pads with new rotors running National bearings - I'm satisfied.

Duralast (Autozone) = Suck

Prostop (Pep Boys) = Suck

Wagner & Brake Best Select Ceramic (O reillys) = Decent

O reillys used to carry Raybestos and Satisfied and now they don't. They were very good. Dumb move on their part.

I'm not sure if these will work on a RM, but if I was to do a full brake job right now, this looks like a hell of a deal.
