Damn. I wish I had the bones to do this mod. I can't seems to save much in this economy.

BUT, you DO realize that 600-700rwhp you are going to be getting smoked by 14 second hondas in stoplight to stoplight encounters, right? How the HELL are you going to put down 700rwhp on the street?
Half throttle?

Been down this road and enjoy the heck out of the D1SC/T56/383 Stroker combo. Perma grin for sure. Wish you were closer so I could let you experience rowing gears with boost. Always exhilarating and very streetable. A/C still works great and I see 19mpg on the highway. I take it to the office occsionally and would drive it more but it sucks the 93 octane fuel down when the foot gets heavy. Usually 8-9 mpg when doing spirited driving. Race track it's around 3mpg. I have to refuel between each 20-30 minute session but it's so worth it when the guys I roasted swing by to check out my car scratching their head Yes, I could squeeze more power out of the D1S1 setup using the smaller pulley but 10psi at 6K rpm is plenty and perfect for what I do with the car. The more boost the more fragile the setup gets. One minor issue can get real expensive.

+1 on getting power down. Cold road and cold tires = driving on ice even with 525rwhp. Also be sure to get you some real brakes. The TCE Big Brake kit is incredible. I've had people say they were more impressed with how quick the car stops than its neck snapping acceleration. Sounds crazy but better brakes allow you to go faster.

Then there's springs and sway bars when straight away ends. B-Bodies are freaks around turns when you have them setup correctly. Go ask the pissed off Porsche guys

I've made a lot of mods to my car over the years and have it just how I want it. Looking back, the T56 conversion is still my favorite mod. It makes the car more enjoyable to drive although it does little for the drag time slips. Now is the time if you're gonna do it.

You are seeking info in the right place. Good luck with the build.

Half throttle is only until you can get going fast enough to go to full throttle...

As one racer put it, "I want enough power to spin the tires at the end of the straight... and then I want bigger tires!"

Thumbs up good info...

You guys give very good opinions...eventually I am going to do an LS9/TCI 6X six-speed combo. I need to look into the functionality of the combo.

3.73!!! With the 6L80E, a 3.08 will work very well. The G8 GT is 2.9-ish axle, but a little shorter tire.

Bill, you coming to SSHS9. The MISSL boys rolled into the Jameson Inn about an hour ago..

Food for thought here..but power is useless without putting down to the pavement.
