Default The junkyard find thread!

I usually have very poor luck in the salvage yards, but with visions of clunkers dancing in my head, I decide to use my Veterans Day to go on a junk yard hunt. I recently bought a 96 RMW, and while the car was in excellent mechanical shape, the tan leather interior showed every one of the 135,000 miles on the odometer. Maybe I could find a couple of door panels.

The pickings in the first lot were bleak, but did find a cap for my washer fluid tank. I missed my turn on my way to the next one and while doubling back, I came across a lot I didn't know was there. In the second row of GM cars, there sat a 96 RMS, 83K miles, engine full of CFC goop, but a complete pristine tan interior. Only the radio was gone, this car couldn't have been out on the lot for 24 hours.

Turns out it's 1/2 price day to boot. I got a complete interior in excellent condition for $120.

That also inluded a few other misc parts, which brings me to my question. Will the power radio antenna from the RMS install in my RMW?

Didn't think of getting a picture of the interior before I snagged it. The windshield washer fluid tank is still full!

Two (non RM) Wagons to haul the booty

Does your car have cloth and, if so, what are you doing with those seats?

Default We need a Scrapyard find sticky!

I feel that we need a scrapyard find sticky thread people can post thier finds in so as we can all share found parts amongst the community.

Today I went to our slim pickins pick-n-pull, and found these parts:

1991 Olds Custom Cruiser gauge cluster with tach, 115k mi.
1998ish Chevrolet blazer tan console with a tape player angled at the driver. carpets still good but needs new leather pad on top.

There were a few B-bodies, but they were STRIPPED, the custom cruiser has blue interior that is there for the most part, but the seats were trashed from the weather.

Two weeks ago I had a week off from work and my wife let me have a day to myself, so I went to a local yard, J & J in Manchester NY. I found a gold '94 RMS with 70,000 miles, in nice shape and spotless int. (CFC). I got the beige leather ft. and rr seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, door panel parts, radio, like new upper control arms with new upper ball joints, almost new a/c condenser, and assorted under hood hoses and vacuum lines. Also found some '90s Buick GS badges, a '95 coolant tank, and a rear sway bar out of a CV taxi that I'm going to put on my wagon. I also got a trans. out of a 52,000 mile '94 RMS, LAB, blue leather, another CFC, originally from Sarasota Fla. (badge on trunk) probably snowbirds, so no rust on that one, sucked seeing that. Now I'm going to try putting the sedan rear seat in my wagon, like Tom (silverfox) did on his wagon. Anyone want beige cloth frt. seats?
