When mine wouldn't open I stuffed a rag between the grill, and bumper pad. This created enough upward pressure to pop the hood when I pulled the lever.

you dont need to take the grill off . lay on the ground in front off the car . use your hand to feel around the latch . You will feel a lever or a switch , push to the right . Hood will pop right up . Surprised the s hit out of me when I had the same problem .

If you pull on the cable housing,as long as it is unattached. The hood should open.If not, then snake your finger in behind the latch.Find the release lever and pull it towards you.

Are you referring to the clip on the bottom of the actuator arm on the latch itself?

on the latch that's bolt to the radiator support. there's a hole on the bottom where u can stick ur pinky finger in. u'll feel a solid object. try to push it toward the driver side of the car. if it's a lil subborn have someone push down on the hood slightly not to put a dent and it should push over a bit easier then pull the hood up and unlock the hook.
to prevent other's from opening your hood using this method seal up that hole. or wrap ur hood shut in chain behind the hood.
