Default Good Hose kit

Does anyone know if there's a good hose kit out there for the 1996 impala SS or is it better to buy the hoses seperate? I'm looking to replace them all when i get back to the states and trying to order them off line. I wanted to go with red but if not i just want good hoses. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance guys.

Yeah I was looking at those. Do you use them? If so how was the fit? And did it come with all of them (I'm pretty sure it did, just thought I'd ask)?

Radiator hoses nowadays are not the same as radiator hoses of old.

Why are new stock replacements not sufficient?

Goodyear makes a kit, the only complaints I've heard is the color tends to fade.

So are you recommending I go with stock hoses? I want what's going to last over something that looks good.

I've heard that too but I haven't had that issue (Mine is NOT a daily driver)

First question I would ask is why are you looking to replace your stock hoses? Are they shot?

The only weaknesses in the stock B-body cooling system are these:
1. Radiator (if it breaks)
2. heater core
3. heater hose T
4. heater hose restrictor
5. Water pump (EDIT - forgot this one so I added it)

I would budget money to replace those, and not the hoses themselves. If anyone has blown a stock radiator or heater hose on these cars, speak up now. It is not common.

The stock hoses on my '94 roadmaster were replaced at 17 years, with stock replacements. 17 years is pretty good.

If you do decide to get silicone hoses, make sure you get the shielded hose clamps as well. Silicone hoses chafe under non-shielded clamps.

I was going to replace them because I was going to replace my opti once I got home. So while I had the water pump off, I was going to flush the coolant and change the hoses so I wouldn't have to worry about it. But I've only had to replace one hose and that was because my alternator seized up and snapped my belt and cut it.

From your experience it seems as it would be best to just leave them and check them when I get back and replace as needed.

Buy these and a new restrictor and tee and forget about your hoses:

It is not common to blow a stock hose, but these cars are 16-18 years old and when it does happen, it seems to be at the worst time in the worst place under the worst conditions.
