Bump stops & eibach lowering springs

I just bought some eibach lowering springs for my 1996 chevy impala and wanted to see if any one could give me some advice on some bump stops to buy or use oems. I dont want to affect the height to much. Any suggestion would bs appreciated!!

I really like the orange "spongy" ones from GM. I don't recall what are called specifically,but some time with the "search" function on this forum should turn up that infomation,as they are fairly common.

They are refered to as the ZQ8 bumpstops.

Ah, ZQ8. Thanks Fishah. I got mine from my local Chevy dealer. This is a GM part, maybe RockAuto,or one of the on-line GM parts suppliers.

The Zq8 bump stops will have to be trimmed down a fair amount to work with those springs. I rode on factory bums with Eibachs for a while. The bumps split from all the pressure of riding on them basically all the time. I no longer have the Eibachs on the car in the front. You can see on my frame all the polishing where I was on the stops a lot, if not always.

As Fishah said. You can get theZQ8's at the GM dealer.

I've run the Eibach Pro Springs for 5+ years along with Bilstein shocks. The stock bumpstops were still fine when I pulled them off. I had to replace the front leaking Bilstein's about 5K ago with a pair of Monroe SS Shocks and put the ZQ8's on then. I didn't have to trim the ZQ8's and they still seem to be holding up.

I think there was about 1/4" - 1/2" gap in there but can't check it for you now since the car is still jacked up with the tires off . I have a 95 Caprice so I don't know if that matters. But all of the parts on the suspension have been swapped out with Impala/9C1 parts except for the 5/8" Setup.

It's hard to tell if the bumpstops made a diff for me since I swapped a Proforged kit in along with a new Steering box. But I've read good things about them.
