Default After 6 years its back on the road 9C1

We bought this 94 caprice back in 06, dad had planned on converting it into an Impala, but ended up getting too busy with other things and gave it to me to be my first car.

We got it for $300.00

it was so cheap because it wouldn't run due to the fuel pump being out, and wouldn't drive because the trans was shot.

for some reason the people we got it off of stole the drivers side upper seat frame, and disasembled the dash and tore apart the headlight dimmer switch.

ended up pulling the carpet out because the rear floorboard was black, due to im guessing vomit and spit. we had previously bought a parts 94 caprice so i stole its carpet and front bench seat and installed it into my caprice.

I reasembled the dimmer switch followed by the dash. interior done.

next i decided to remove all police markings seeing as i couldn't use em lol

next i dropped the fuel tank and replaced the sending unit and fuel pump, including strainer and filter.

at this point the car hasnt ran in 4 years, put fresh gas in it and it started, with no rough running. i was very surprised

other than adding blue LED strips under the dash and under the front seats for rear floorboard and the read door pockets thats all i had to do to get the car back together and running

March 18th 2012 I rolled my 1992 Old's custom cruiser.
I just got released from the doctors to go back to work an had about a grand too my name.

some how this week after all these years thing fell into place
1.(Monday) found a used transmission from a 1994 caprice classic 5.7 non police

2.(Tuesday) drug car down to local hole in the wall mechanic that somehow had nothing on his schedule all this week, Pulled trans had out by 6pm started at 12:30
3.(Wednesday) went to local parts store bought input shaft seal, 13 quarts of trans fluid, 4 exhaust bracket bolts, steering idler arm, front sway bar bolt kits, engine oil pressure sending unit, engine oil cooler gasket set, and a can of Kooler Kleen ( worked very well { highly recommend to use in any swap} )

total time of swap was 17 hours, but did include installing all of these gaskets and other parts.

Time to test drive, OMG IT WORKS, IT ACTUALLY WORKS. 1-2nd soooo smooth and same for the rest.

PROBLEM getting a noise in diff when going 20mph or faster only when accelerating, let off and it goes away. was told by local shop pinion bearing or carrier bearing is shot. cost to replace $325. i decided id rather see if the diff in the parts car is good.

4.(Thursday) replace front pads and rotors

5.(Friday) drag parts car into the garage, pull diff. pull in my car, pull diff. install diff from parts car into my car. bleed breaks and test drive. no more problems YAY ! ! !

6.(Saturday) drain rear diff gear oil and replace with 2 quarts or oil plus LSD additive. car is ready to roll (wait no, not roll i meant drive for years and years)
