Default Axle back?

I was cleaning up a bit in my carport and came across my Magnaflow bullet mufflers i purchased last year for my last SS. Im likely going to have them installed on my dggm, but im curious as to know what they will sound like in the absence of the resonators, and having the bullets in that place instead. They are the exact same length as the resonators btw. So basically im considering piping the area where the stock muffs sit before the axle, and placing the mags in the very end behind the axle. Wondering if anyone had/has this done that can tell me what that will sound like. Thanks

Which muffler do you have? I recently installed XL 3s and hate them. They are basically very expensive Glasspacks.

Different than the ones I bought but the description for them sounds the same.

Mine look great and are well built. I have 2 1/2 pipe all the way to the bumper and no resonators. The Mags sound great at idle and light throttle, no drone. Punch it though and they blatt and cackle like a Cherry Bomb.

Perhaps my Longtubes and lack of Cats contribute to this. If so, it is just another reason to put some Cats on.

That might have been the exact problem for you sinister. When i had my black ss and the magnaflows in question installed, it didnt have cats either on stock manifolds. 2.5 inch diameter front to back with no cross over pipe at that particular time, it crackled like somebodies feet at light throttle. So i can only imagine the sound if those were to be put behind the axle, but then again, number 2 here has cats... Very interested to find out either way...
