Default taylor 74627 too short wires..many

at least 4 of these wires seem to be short...one by 3 inches. the rest about 1 or 2 inches.

i have the laid out on the table. i'm assuming there's no chance they will magically stretch..anyone else have this issue?

Not laying on a table, you need to hang them in the Sun from a wire with a 5 lb weight on the other end to stretch them....jk

I've not used the Taylor kit but found the MSD kit to be a little long on some wires. What about trying to contact someone at Taylor?

Maybe check them out on the web and see if they have a techline to call. I did this with MSD and got great service along with fast free replacements of some defective wires.

OP:
I bought the SAME wires, and had the same issue.
i tried to get them cheap, at partstrain.com they sent 2 #4 wires and NO #7 wire.
i returned for refund and just got them from summit. Summit did not screw it up.
where did you buy yours?

Taylor Cable Products, Inc. warrants solely to the original purchaser and not to any subsequent purchaser, and only as installed on the original vehicle, for which all Taylor Cable Products are to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase when properly installed

its been more than 90 days so i guess i cant deal with them direct even if i wanted to

Wrong parts always screw up a project. IIRC - you were swapping in your engine. If it can wait, will be much easier to do the wires first. It is still doable in the car but more difficult. The engine won't run without them, so why not wait.

It does su(k that you may have to buy another set and wait for those to arrive. If you are near Newark Delaware, contact Finish Line Performance (302-998-3853) on Kirkwood Hwy. He will usually match prices with Summit or Jegs and I bet he has a set in for you tomorrow afternoon. I've used MSD and really liked them, but he should be able to get any aftermarket part next day. Plus there is no Sales Tax in the 1st state

Why not give them a call? You may be surprised. A product that doesn't fit is something companies want to avoid, bigtime. I've already decided against ever getting these wires, and that's probably unfair. This shows why companies usually make the effort to resolve these issues though.

Ouch, I read that. Really not a fun job to do on our cars.

Check my thread on the MSD wires and seperators I used with the stock brackets. I really found the process much easier to do by removing the accessory bracket that someone suggested. Done it the Qalo Handbook method too, but if I ever do it again, I'm pulling the bracket.

Curious, what did your mechanic charge to install those and I wonder how much trouble they had? Can only imangine a mechanic that does not know these cars and thinks Spark Plug wires...piece of cake. Then they find out how difficult/time consuming it is.
