I found a new set Flowtech Headers 31100FLT ceramic coated long tubes, they are the exact same as the Summit SUM-G9001-9.
Flowtech probably made them for Summit to sell with their name on them. Anyone have any install pics? I search and only found one set of pics. I don't need cats for inspection since the car is a 95 Caprice B4U , and just ordered from ebay two O2 senors bungs to weld in. I know the frame braces will need to be cut out, which is no big deal for me ,and the a/c line rerouted. anything else? I'm going to head to a local junk yard and look for some 90 degree a/c lines from other cars or trucks. Most the gm a/c hook up pipes are the same size. Whats funny is the only thing wrong with my car is the mufflers are shot, and it turned into this. Thanks for any help. |

I didnt have to cut or "clearance" the frame braces on my car. The passenger side went in from the top and the driver side from the bottom. Plenty of clearance all around. I didnt have my ac lines hooked up though

I dont see anything for Flowtech Longtube Headers these are 4 tubes into one, I see your thread your thread Flowtech Afterburners. I have seen guys talk about how these Longtubes will fit and work, but no detailed thread yet. Anyone have details or I just might do a write up when I install these, I found them for $125 plus shipping for NIB for the coated ones. Summit is selling them of 279 plus shipping. I bought the last two sets, they should be at my house this week. Im welding 02 bungs in the hook up pipes, but my concern is how the rest of the exhaust is going to hook up. How much work will be invovled. I dont have a tube bender, and most shops will not touch anything with the cats off around here. We dont have emission testing on car 96 and older, but fedeal law states the cats cannot be removed. |

Got them look decent for the price plus all the gaskets, header bolts, and the lower hook up pipe are included.

I don't remember my passenger side Afterburner looking like that at all.
Just looked up Afterburners (I removed mine long ago) and these are definitely not Afterburners. So...is this a deal for only you or is it something you can share with the forum?

You sure they'll fit? I don't think those headers are for a 1994-1996 B-Body? On the website it says it's for a Gen I V8 on a random assortment of Chevy's Pre-1980.

MMmmmmmm
......looks like a classic header mistake, here. Most long-tube headers that are spec'ed for Gen-1 engined B-Bodies, have been shown to not fit 1994-1996 B-Bodies. The lone exception that I know of are the Afterburners. Frame issues and all...... KW Last edited by KW Baraka; 12-16-2012 at 10:40 AM. |
