Well 4 years and over 100 nitrous passes, it finally went kaput. Nobody that it should run what it ran, but it did. My motor was made of everything people claim couldnt handle high hp but it did. 2 bolt main, i beam rods, cheap pistons, and a baby xfi cam with lloyd elliot stage 2 heads. The car also handled a total of a 325 shot between 2 stages netting a 9.84 @ 137mph. I think thats pretty damn good. Cold drag day was rained out so the next weekend we went back to cecil and they warned me i had white smoke the entire pass out the exhaust. Made a motor pass after that and netted a 12.1 which was 5 tenths slower with white smoke again so they threwe off the track.
Today ken kaniffss pulled the motor. Cylinder 6 & 8 were burning oil and lifted the ring lands. #6 plug was missing the ground strap and dented the piston. I have pics that i will post tomorrow. This racing stuff takes a toll on the pockets but i will be back with a totally new setup. I just hope in time for nshs2. Never listen to what people say wont work. 10 different people on this forum alone told me my stock driveshaft will never make it. Works fine for me at 137mph and my rear is extended.

Make sure you check with Dan to get the correct setup for your new motor. He stayed at a Holiday Inn Express...............

I'm far from a racing guru, but with the amount of power you are running and the violent launches that car makes you should really get a better drive shaft. I was at LISST dyno day years back and saw a stock drive shaft let, go not the u-joint either. It was not pretty. Would hate to see yours let go at the type of speed that you are running. You have great looking car and it is a cheap item to replace compared to what you have in your setup.
Best of luck with the new setup. |

That engine went faster than any math said it could. Helluva ride.
Now get it rebuilt for NSHS2! NO EXCUSES FOR A BIG BALLER LIKE YOU! Like I said, get Kanniff, Broke, Eminem, and your Filly Mechanic on it!

Ur god damn right about that bk. i just really hope this new setup goes just as fast or faster. Very nervous about the switch up being i have a great combo that i know works. But what the heck, life is full of chances so im gonna take one. I dont think it will b back by nshs2 honestly. I just really dont wanna rush to b done. Plus it will need a dyno tune and bryan isnt coming untill april. Ill bring a car tho to compete.

That's the spirit!
Just remember, a 16 second ****ty beat up Ford Country Squire Wagon won King of the Hill at SSHS2 or SSHS3 back in the day. Doesn't matter what you got, we have a race for you! |
