There's no sticky on this yet and I'd be happy to submit one once I get done. But right now I'm working on piecing mine together.
I have a PCM & coils, dropping off the harness this or next weekend to BP automotive, Still looking for a timing cover, and planning on getting a keyed hub from Jegs or Summit. I still have to order the kit from EFIconnection. So here's one questions I have so far: ~~Anyone have an aftermarket hub (keyed) and does it still have to be milled? I didn't see one for a 96 Impala. Only 96-7 f-bodies & 94-95 b-bodies. Whereas an OBDII would be shorter for the reluctor. Please any insight on this would be great. Lots of info on tech...if you own an f-body!!!!

If you can't get a keyed 96 hub , or don't have the access to a lathe, you could simply space the accessory bracket ahead the thickness of the reluctor

I need to find time to do some research on the differences between the F-body/vette hub & Impala. If all it takes is machining or spacing, I'm sure I can come up with something.
The problemis right now is I don't have the kit ffrom EFIconnection yet. So I don't know the specs on the reluctor. I work in a GM parts dept and the reluctor wheel is still readily available & cheap. Retail is about $10. I may order one just to have and work with. EDIT: I found this. It looks as if the difference is only .1" or am I reading this wrong. I would think the reluctor wheel's center portion would be thicker than .1" http://www.nookandtranny.com/Info_LT1.html

Yes the reluctor wheel is .100" My engine was a 97 Camaro with a LT4 top end but I needed the Impala hub so I just put it in the lathe and turned it down .100" The 24X conversion parts are top notch I had no trouble with fitting any of it on the engine. The only troble I have is getting motivated to finish this project (99 S-10 Xtreme with LT4/24X conversion, Z06 rims and brakes) and all I have left to do is install the headers and harness. Jason

Wheelz, sounds good, Now we know who to go to for answers. LOL
BTW, got pics? My son has a 99 Xtreme that he keeps begging for a 5.3 swap in it. He's only 17 and I'm putting it off for awhile. I hope he doesn't see this post. He'll be begging even more.

Impala SS hub is 3.99" long in the 96 B-bodies due to the .100" crank reluctor wheel that sits behind the damper and spaces it out to 4.09" The F-body and Y-body hubs are 3.519 until 96 when they got the crank reluctor wheel and then those hubs after 96 and newer were 3.419 to accomodate the .100" reluctor wheel Hope this helps

Guess I'll be getting the standard 94-5 Impala hub from Jegs then turning it down to 3.99". One of my issues is my crank uses a long keyway and the machine shop cut it all the way to the crank gear. So now I have to get a new keyway. This is one reason why I'm going with an aftermarket hub that is slotted for a keyway. No need to cut another keyway.
Also because I don't want the hub spinning.

Cool...I just looked at Jegs and they only have the long Hub, so you right on track with milliing it down .100.
