Journey from stock to the present

Hey guys, so seeing as I've been home all day with the snow and pretty bored I figured I'd make this thread about my 96 SS from when we picked it up to now. There are a ton of pictures so I'll be uploading a few at a time.


January 2008... The new to me 96 Impala SS I was 15 at the time so my dad picked it up from NC and drove it home to NJ on one tank of gas lol
The original owner had installed a set of 255/60/17's on the car..





The dirty old stock LT1





First thing we did was bring it to my friends shop and have it looked over,





And remove home plate...







Next to my friend's Heads/Cam 96. Look how filthy my car was,

275/40/17's








Unknown to me at the time, there was a spacer in the front springs causing it to sit higher, I guess it was to clear the 255/60's he had mounted.

All new front end going in, plus Hotchkis sway bars.








Did what I can to wipe it down

Back home and in the garage for now.



Needs to be lowered






And then of course..




Parts are already piling up in the garage

New coolant tank to stop the leak,




MSD Opti


Red bowtie installed

Back to the shop to start putting all the parts in and getting the car straight







Holley TB, (Which I later found to be not working correctly





New hoses and lines

Hotchkis front springs and shocks installed







Rear springs and shocks









Topped it of with a RAISS intake







This was when my neighbors began to really love me...

Got smart and installed a BBK TB



Smoked the tails




My buddy did the headlights as well but they were way too dark






Had this engraving done



Got new headlights and ordered GTS covers

Got my RAISS decals in














Finally had the car professionally detailed

Had the rear windows tinted which ended up being crap, tried out a billet grill and had dual flowmasters installed..









The impala script (I know I installed it crooked lol) lasted a few weeks before it got scraped off by something

Getting ready to test fit the new fiberglass smooth bumpers

Stock bumpers back on so I can drive it, I had just turned 17 and gotten my license so was really eager to get back in it.





At the POSSI impala club's mod day



Had the tint redone correctly, 35% front 20% rear. I later changed to front to 20 as well.
