  1. Temperature guage not working all the sudden

    Electrical
In the other thread, the picture I put up, I showed the plug oriention was reversed You can see where I wrote the positions of the A's and the B's While I see what you are saying, the alignment tabs or lugs show the proper orientations. Case in point, if you have a connection mounted...
  2. Temperature guage not working all the sudden

    Electrical
Look at the round lugs in the schematic Now look at the plug in the picture That plug ( 99% sure because I put all my stuff away and am not pulling it back out) TOP ROW Left to right is B1 B2 B3 etc Looking at it that way I see the correct pins and missing pins. All that being said as already...
  3. ABS light. Missing front two sensor cables (cut). What is a “Speed sensor seal”?

    Electrical
Well, the GM description of that part number 15552872 is Seal, speedometer driven gear. If the illustration is accurate it does not look like this seal I have here
  4. ABS light. Missing front two sensor cables (cut). What is a “Speed sensor seal”?

    Electrical
Pretty sure that is the sensor oring for the vehicle speed sensor in the transmission. "there any resetting the pcm when I plug theses sensors in?' There is no connection between the PCM and the ABS system. The ABS system is stand alone. If it all worked before you ripped out the wires,should...
  5. “Fuel Gage Shoots Past Full” *When turn engine off and same thing when *press brake pedal with key off.

    Electrical
If the car side ( towards front, with rear side disconnected ) carrys the halogen lamp load then yes the ground circuit to the LR wheel well is fine. As Z09B4U says though, quick and easy to unscrew, clean, reconnect Just for fun, what does the fuel guage do Ign off, 4 ways on Ign off , tail...

Z09B4U, All good ,we are on the same page. Comment was more to do with this particular thread. You are often more on point with this stuff than I OP , another thing I am big on is...

Ground testing , is where Z09B4U and have different but valid methods. My feeling is that often a questionable circuit will easily carry the load from a multimeter or led test lamp. It can be misleading Voltage drop with a high load light is my preference. My go to is an old halogen...

Page 8A 14 7 Shows the fuel sender ground circuit Goes through C 402 terminal A page 8A 201 36 shows you C402 Then splice S400 Page 8A 14 10 tells you where splice S400 is Then it goes through pass through P400 Page 8A 14 9 tells you where P400 is It also references an illustration on...
  9. Oil Pressure Guage/switch. Needle is all the way on High reading.

    Electrical
Not just good, it's good enough.
  10. Oil Pressure Guage/switch. Needle is all the way on High reading.

    Electrical
On the bench test, sorry ,thought it was obvious Black wire goes to a battery neg Pink wire goes to battery pos Tan wire momentarily touches battery neg to simulate the oil pressure switch closing. Gas gauge moving when you touch the brake with the ign off, typically reeks of grounding...

Not me;) never had a problem with mine. The only reason i have this is because i changed to 96 impala in my car. The reason it is apart is because I gave someone the water and volt gauges. I just took it out to the garage yesterday to verify what I was saying and to positively follow the traces...
  12. Knock Off Coolant Reservoir

    Heating/Cooling/HVAC
It is over 15 pounds pressure, don't waste your time trying. About the only thing that might stop it would be rad seal along with all sorts of things in the system you don't want to seal. Shame to see our cars getting so old that we are cheaping out, not willing to spend a hundred bucks...

I suggest you sit and read right through the books on day when not looking for anything in particular. Most Electrical I was looking at was BOOK 2 Caprice Impala cluster stuff is mostly 8A-82-0 to 8A-82-21 Ground distribution is mostly 8A-14-0 to 8A-14-10

Although i have plugs around somewhere, Those pictures were not mine, they were the other canadian helping you here;) I used some pcm terminals and heat shrink for insulators. A back yard terminal that works for testing , Take a piece of wire and ram a pick up inside of it to make a cavity

drop the tank, plug all the pipes and hoses, pressurize the tank with a couple pounds of air, put soapy water all over and look for bubbles.

Woow, that board of yours is a bit of a turd! You should have this one :)

To add, The important gauge ground , right plug A6 black /white circuit 351 Goes through splice S200 the goes to ground G202 right A piller. The left plug ground B3 ,while important, is not responsible for the oil gauge. It is circuit #450 It goes through c202 then c201 then to G200 Left A...

    Electrical
My reasoning for bench testing is that is all i have here , an old cluster. The plug and pin orientation is quite confusing as one is upside down compared to the other. The correct ground for the actual guage is on the other plug. The ground pin on the left plug will run the check gauges module...
