Running a stock lt1 shortblock with slightly shaven(.003) 374 castings. Piston depth is .026 so the 1094 should give great quench. Should I coat the gaskets at all? Any tricks out there anyone could share? Would you use these gaskets in tandem with a 100 shot? I'll be using ArP head bolts to clamp them down. Any advice is appreciated -Alex

If it's the rubber coated shim gasket, I wouldn't put anything on it.
If there are any nicked/scraped areas, spray it with Permatex copper sealant.
Make sure your block and head deck surfaces are straight!
100 shot no problem. With straight surfaces/good finish and proper torque, there's less risk of a gasket failure than you have with composite gaskets.

Edit: You DO know you have to modify this gasket (we're talking the .015", right?) for the LT1 cooling holes? Use your old LT1 gaskets as templates.
It's been a while since I've seen one. Can't remember if the gasket is embossed around where the LT1-specific holes need to be cut; if not, a light coat of RTV Ultra Copper around them.
