Fix Until Broke, ahhh that must be making some of the difference. I thought you were also running an LS engine. It just didn't seem right that one car would have a tight fit with a 1.5" body lift and another car wouldn't. 1.5" is a pretty significant amount of clearance to add into the tunnel. Did you also use the PPV trans pan?

Johnabrams62 build is coming along awesome! thank you for the pics of the trans! I have the 325mm Kore 3 setup with C6 calipers and it kicks ass. I also went to Bill Harpers rear big brake kit with C6 calipers and hydroboost for some insane stopping power lol.

That is one hell of a build though, i'm jealous of the 6 speed. It's the one thing really i wish I did with my build. IMO the 6 speed trans really do a great deal to improve drivability of a heavy car like ours not having so much drop off between shifts during part throttle acceleration. I've got a 700+HP LSA blown car with 3.73's and it still just always feels like it's lugging around town with the 60e at part throttle. Also like the .67 OD gear. It's the reason I didn't go 4l80e with its .75OD. Even with a .70OD, I wouldn't mind dropping a few RPM's on the highway with my 3.73's and 25.7" tires

Car is back on the road, still have to hook up AC and a few other things. I’m definitely enjoying the current suspension setup, it handles great! When taking turns, the car feels planted with little to none body roll, new sway bars should be last piece of puzzle, now saving up for some sway bars (it never ends). The brakes are awesome, night and day difference when compared to the factory, they bite hard and it does not take much effort to stop the car.
I’m glad I upgraded the brakes and would definitely recommend it for anyone, especially those running bigger wheels.

if I had to do it again for easier wheel fitment
Kore3 355mm 14” rotor kit for 19” wheels or bigger
Kore3 340mm 13.38” rotor kit for 18” wheels or bigger
Kore3 325mm 12.8” rotor kit for 17” wheels or bigger.

I Went with the KORE3 Hybrid 355mm 14” rotors Front Big-Brake Kit- very tight fit with 18” wheels.

wheels: American racing VN 507 Rodders 18”
Tires: 255 45 18 continental extreme contacts plus all the way around, 27” tall tire.

How did you get the trans to fit without a crazy driveshaft angle? I just test fit a 6l90 in my Roadmaster and had to cut the tunnel a decent amount to get it to 3°. I’m also using KDS mounts. The 6L90 uses a slip yoke with a 1410 ujoint, it looks like I will have to cut the tunnel most of the length of the floor pan to fit the driveshaft.

6L80e with the 3 prong flange yoke in 1995 impala SS, not sure about road masters or fleetwoods and not sure about the 6l90e with the slip yoke but it should be about the same..

1. New energy suspension body bushings Part number 3.4136G. The new bushings raised the body up a smidge under 1/4” as the old ones was squished. This is probably the main reason I did not had to cut the tunnel and other mods listed below nicely complimented this repair.

I’m using tsp 81073 or Holley 302-2 oil pan as they have plenty of clearance with the crossmember, the 4th Gen F body Camaro oil pan works but it’s a snug fitment and does not allow much room for adjustment. The Camaro pan does NOT allow the engine tilt as much as the Holley or the TSP due to oil pan to crossmember interference. I highly recommend the Holley or tsp pan if using KDS mounts regardless of what transmission is being used.

2. Dropped cross member mount area by 1/8” or shave transmission mount by 1/8”

3. Massaged tunnel accordingly.

4. Shaved transmission outer ribs prolly earned me another 1/8” clearance.

5. Folded in body seam at the top of the tunnel.

Overall I “gained” about 1/2” additional clearance after completing the above mods & repairs.
I have have UMI adjustable rear upper trailing arms to help set pinion angle. Please see older post for pictures and more info.
