Average Humidity in July:
St. Louis: Morning: 83%, Afternoon: 60%
Houston: Morning: 92%, Afternoon: 64%
Dallas/FW: Morning: 79%, Afternoon 54%

Reference: Average Humidity

Heat Index considers both the temperature and humodity. Here are the afternoon high heat indices for each city using the average afternoon himidities in July and the average high temperature in July.

Afternoon High Heat Index:
St. Louis: 99.2F
Houston: 112.3F
Dallas/FW: 109.2F

Reference: Heat Index Calculator

St. Louis still wins over TX in the weather/comfort department. Next Argument? :D

Ok, maybe not. Doh!

:D

Just to throw this out to see what sticks, what if we held a large combined ISSCA National / Impalafest in late September? (I know school could be the biggest problem.)
Anyway, we have cooler weather, State Fair is running, Ft. Worth Zoo & Dallas Zoo open, Six Flags is open, Hurricane Harbor is open, Rangers Baseball, Stars Hockey, Cowboys Football. (Lots of stuff for family members not interested in the cars.)

Just thinking out loud as I type.

If you don't quite down, Alaska is going to cut its self in half and make Texas the 3rd largest state. :D

St Louis or Indy is my choice. THEN DROP ANCHOR AND MAKE IT THE SAME PLACE AND TIME EVERY YEAR.
But, I've already said that 350K times and it hasn't been listened too yet.

As far as TX goes, how many Texas guys were in PA? or Indy? Beyond the ISSCA officials?

Everybody wants the nationals in their backyard so it's convenient for them. It needs to be convenient for the majority, not convenient to satisfy a local/regional desire.
Those attempts have proven to be less than spectacular so far.

Just my .02

At the Pocono's there were more Texas plates than NY, MA and NJ. If I am not mistaken for Indy the number of Texas plates nearly equaled the number of cars from from midwest. There were at least 12 cars from Texas. 5 cars from HOSS and 5 from SAIL participated in the ICCC. There was a reason why the police were told a black car from Texas did the last burn out.

No, It was a yellow Mustang, just ask Darth Vader. LOL

What Paul said....as usual, he's a smart dude :D

St Louis would be my vote...
G
I like Indy or St. Louis as the realistic choices.

I'm also for having at the SAME spot for at least a few years, so we can plan our trips accordingly.

I don't really care where it is so much at this point as much as I do when or if!!!!

Where's the official response "we're working on it" or something to ease our minds a bit?
G
We're working on it.

How's that Bill.

I think I can swing 11-12 hours to St Louis, Texas is pretty much out of the question for me.. I'm a b-car lover and all, but 3,000 miles round trip is a little too much..

I'm going to inject Norwalk again for consideration because it's likely the #1 drag race facility in the world and The Mid-Ohio road couse is very close and Columbus, Ohio has a huge network of Impala SS support. I-70 and I-75 being the crossroads of America helps also
