BTW, the next time an event hotel is picked it would be nice if the hotel provides smoking rooms. Marriott sucks.
Actually every hotel is non-smoking in MI now. They recently passed a no smoking law for pretty much every business now, even bars.
Face it, Gene. It is smoking that sucks. cwm4
See you in Motor City, Firebreather. Have a safe trip! ;)
I was originally planning to share a room with Bill Harper (Navy Lifer) but just found out he will not be able to go. I have a guaranteed room in the Host Hotel with two doubles if someone wants to double up and save some money.
I have a reservation at the host hotel that unfortunately, I will not be using.
Anyone interested, PM me & I will cancel & hook you up with my ISSCA rate res.
I guess no one is interested? If I don`t hear from anyone by tomorrow night, I`m just going to cancel...

Wednesday 8/17 - Monday 8/22

Sold! to Goldmaster... 8^)
Mikey, what the deuce!
I might need some help with mounting tires while in Detroit. Did someone here (Don or Wytltng) say that they had a garage or shop and would help people out as needed?

I'm looking for a pair Hoosier 18194 10.5/29.5-15 C11 compound. I'm trying to source the local by Monday. Otherwise I can get them from Summit and have them shipped to a shop for mounting in the Detroit area.

Please LMK, thanks!
Anyone else cancelling there room from thursday or friday till sunday??
I want first dibs.
I read a post in the MISC section about Rutledge stopping by the hotel with a Ford GT, and then giving us rides. While that would be cool, I think GM would be remiss if they didn't let someone like Jon Moss or Beertstr bring a 2011 ZR1 by and give rides as well. GM can't let Ford hog the show at an Impala event on the 50th anniversary of the Impala, right? Come on GM, show Ford who has the real power in Detroit!

Note: I plead my fifth amendment rights in advance! :D
It's almost time!!!! Last 4 hours of work, one quick trip back in tomorrow, then I'm off for 11 days and ready to do it up at Nationals!!!!
Safe travels to all

Hope everyone makes it there safe and sound! Here are a few last minute things...

Left after supper and got the worst part of the trip out of the way and managed to Miss all the deer :)

Parked for the nite in Bangor,Maine, and looks like a rainy drive tomorrow.
I'll be leaving sometime early on Thurs to make my long 30 minute commute lol. I may also pop up at the host hotel on wed night to shoot the **** with the members who arrived early...
anybody willing to help me install a floor shfter and consol in the parking lot?
Can any of the locals fill us in on what they are calling for weatger on these days? Since i ha backed out on coming cuz i didnt have a room, i think im gonna leave philly thursday nite, arrive friday, drag race, and then roll home after drag racing. I cant afford to do that tho if its not good weather. Thanks guys.
Weather looks good. I just checked, it says:
Wed - Aug 17 - 84/68 - 10% chance of rain - check in
Thur - Aug 18 - 83/63 - 30% chance of thundershowers - road racing
Fri - Aug 19 - 83/65 - 0% chance of rain - car show and drag racing, the 2 things we can't have rain for so looking good so far!
Sat - Aug 20 - 83/66 - 10% chance of rain for WDC
Sun - Aug 21 - 84/64 - 40% chance of rain for autocross

Here's the good news. We can road race and autocross in the rain. Heck we've even 'car showed' in the rain. We can definitely cruise Woodward in the rain. The only thing we can't do in the rain is drag race and so far it looks like a good forecast for Friday. Fingers crossed, all!

General Motors is making the Woodward Dream Cruise part of Chevrolet’s Centennial celebration, with events stretching out over four days.

On Wednesday, the GM Design team will host a car show from 1 to 9 p.m. at the Northwood Plaza on the southwest corner of Woodward Avenue and 13 Mile Road. The show will feature personal vehicles owned by members of the design team.

On Thursday, Chevrolet will kick off the Dream Cruise with a parade on Woodward Avenue, starting at 2 p.m. The parade will feature 50 Chevrolet Volts and their owners for the Volt’s first Cruise, 20 employee-owned Chevrolet heritage vehicles, the new Camaro ZL1 and Chevrolet Sonic, and vehicles from the GM Heritage Collection. The parade starts on Woodward Avenue at Long Lake Road, travels south to I-696 and returns.

GM’s Performance Division also will have a display from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Memorial Park on the northeast corner of Woodward Avenue and 13 Mile Road. The display will include a collection of classic engines and modern crate engines.

As part of the display, professional engine builders from the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom disassemble and reassemble a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 engine.

The display will also feature the E-ROD emission-compliant 1955 Chevy Bel Air hotrod, along with other concept, classic and current hotrods.

On Friday, Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser will participate in the Motown Muscle breakfast and panel discussion from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. at Duggan’s Irish Pub in Royal Oak.

Jeff Gilbert of WWJ Radio and John McElroy of “Autoline” will host the panel, which will include representatives from Ford and Chrysler.

On Saturday, The Birmingham Triangle at Woodward and Old Woodward will be the center of Chevrolet activities.

The Chevrolet displays and activities start at 8 a.m. Saturday and run through the conclusion of the cruise at 9 p.m. Some 60 cars will be on display, ranging from heritage vehicles to the new Volt, Sonic, Cruze Eco and the new Camaro ZL1. Also on display will be vehicles from the “Transformers” movies and a selection of Indy 500 pace vehicles. Guy Fieri, host of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” is bringing two of his personal Camaros and will sign posters from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Detroit-area Chevrolet Dealers will parade from Eight Mile Road to Pontiac to Big Beaver Road, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Chevrolet is setting up pit stops locations where cruisers can stop in an air-conditioned area and have their classic cars photographed in front of murals depicting three historic diners. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Pit stop locations are:

• Art Van, 32310 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak, which will serve as a stand-in for Ted’s Drive-In.

• CVS, 30900 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak, the stand-in for Susie Q, and Jax Kar Wash, 27054 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak.
