White walls are few,and far between anymore. Time for some Impala rims, and get some Buick center emblems.

From what I understand 75s are 7/8" taller than 70s. Does anyone have pictures of a Roadmaster sedan with 235/75R15 white walls. Are Mastercraft tires good to okay in terms of quality? I think Cooper & Hankook make a 235/75R15 WW tire. Still would like to know if there is a 235/70R15 WW available.

Also if I can only get 235/75R15 WW tires, will these tires be around in the next 2, 4 or 6 years? I remember when I could get 235/70R15 WW 2 or 3 years ago and wish I bought 8 of them then.

One more think. Should I move this thread to Tires & Wheels? If so how do I do this?

I've called around and 235/70R15s are not available in a white wall. Coketire has them but I don't want to pay the price. I'm thinking of going with Mastercraft A/S IV 235/75R15 Whitewall 06315. These are made by Cooper as a cheaper tire line. These are 28-5/8" tall where as other 235/75s are 28-7/8" tall. Has anyone had any rubbing problems with these tires or this size tire in other brands? Does anyone have a picture of there Roadmaster sedan with 235/75R15 white walls?

I've posted this question in the Wheels & Tires section.

Well it seems that many tire makers are discontinuing that size period! Michelin does not even make that size now, and it did only a couple of years ago.

The 235/70 are extinct. Get the Hankook or Cooper in 235/75 while you can. Check date codes - they may try to stick you with older production. And tires are not something you buy now and sit on for years for future use.

How recently? I go on Hankook's site and cannot find them. It seems that it has only been in the last year or so that companies have started to discontinue this size. Blame it on the huge rim phenomenon.

235/70 or 225/75. Not 235/75

235/75 isn't right. The two Caprice/Roadmaster/Fleetwood sizes (leaving out Impalas) were 235/70 and 225/75, both on a 15-inch wheel. They are almost identical in height within a small fraction of an inch. The 225/75 has a slightly narrower tread.

235/75-15 will fit, but it's taller and will make your speedometer read low.

Hankook apparently doesn't make a 235/70-15 whitewall, so I bought Hankook 225/75-15 whitewalls for my Fleetwood 3 months ago at Sears.

Uhm, not quite.
The two Caprice/Roadmaster/Fleetwood sizes (leaving out Impalas SS) were 235/70 and 225/75, both on a 15-inch wheel.
The 3rd Caprice size - for cars with the L99 4.3L V8 - was 225/70R15.
The 2nd Fleetwood size - for V4P 7k Tow Pack, V4U Limousine, B9Q Hearse, and B05 Armour - was 235/75R15 for 94-96 (all other Fleetwoods and all Roadmasters, came only with 235/70R15).
235/75R15 will fit, but it's taller and will make your speedometer read slow.
Absolutely true, but a speedo reading 3.3% slow @ 100MpH should not be a major concern below 80MpH.

Besides the aforementioned, 235/75R15 has more options than all the other B- & D- car tire sizes COMBINED.

As for white wall tires … are ya gonna cruise a miracle mile?
