As Clear Image Automotive always does, we will offer superior quality, material and workmanship.

This project has been on the back burner but since our TRI-Y headers have been copied and are now being offered in a stainless steel, we are making this a priority.

409 stainless steel is mostly carbon steel and will rust. It is inferior to aircraft quality 304 stainless.

Our TRI-Y headers will be made of 304 stainless, from the flange to the collector. Our Tig welds are made by the best welders in the entire North West as they specialize in stainless steel, aluminum and titanium.

We will continue to shine when it comes to
quality, finish work, welding and material.

Up-dates coming soon.

Bring it in!

Any possibility of 1-7/8" Quad's in stainless?
G
Give em an inch.....

In order to do larger primary tubes there is no way the headers would fit without clearance problems to other parts under the hood. We may be building a custom set of headers on my car for a high HP application. If and when it happens, I would consider the 1 7/8".

Stainless? It is as possible as anything else. We are the only shop in the entire NW area who can bend 1 7/8" tubing right now.

Dan, will these stainless headers also be 14 ga. with 3/8" flanges?

Thanks,

How about stepped headers, 1.75" into 1 7/8" into a 3.5" collector? Kook's makes them for an LT1 f-body.
G
Funny you should ask. we were actually considering stepped from 1 3/4" to 2" with a 3 1/2" collector and 3" ball socket to a 3" exhaust system. We have other projects to finish first but this is on the "to do" list.

Screw it Dan. I want a set of zoomies that come right out of the hood ;)
G
We can do that too if you really want them.

Will the SS be the same price as the others?
G
99.9 percent sure the answer to that question is no. I know of no header manufacturer to sell SS headers at the same price as mild steel. SS cost more so that cost is passed onto the customer. HTH
G
stepped headers with high velocity merge collectors would be AWESOME!! Do it!!
G
Now you are talking complete custom and very expensive! For example, a 321 stainless 3 into 1 Burns Stainless merge collectors cost us $350.00 EACH, as used on this header:

The TRI-Y headers would have a total of 6 merge collectors.
G
Dan, are these SS Try-Y's on the front burner yet? I have a customer that needs a set of headers and these would be perfect for him.

Inquiring minds want to know......

Hey guys,
This project is definitely on the front burner: primary tubes are already bent. I am waiting for 2" tubing to bend the secondaries.
Primary collectors are formed, header flanges are on order. The only thing holding us up is the ability to form the final collector. Our press was not strong enough so we are building a new one. It will be complete Monday and we should be able to make the final collectors by the end of the day. If the tooling we have wont work then we will just make a new tool with our lathe. They are coming.

Just an up-date:
we finished the new press but decided to add a hydraulic clamping system to allow us to form a much nicer stainless collector than we have been able to do. We are able to build a complete set of 304 stainless TRI-Y headers now but we do not like the look of the collectors. Our competitor has beat us to market but at the cost of using collectors that just don't look right. Since this design is our original design, we will not release a sub-standard product. We should be able to form perfect 304 stainless collectors by the end of the week. If so, I will post a comparison of the collectors.

Thanks.

Thanks for your comments. It's nice to know we are appreciated. We will continue to provide the best parts for the B-body community. Though sometimes I have felt like moving on to another market and never looking back. There has been a lot of BS these past few months but we stay because I constantly have reminders of why I am here in the first place; the love of this car and the love of the members! We're not going anywhere.
