304 Stainless TRI-Y headers by Clear Image Automotive

As Clear Image Automotive always does, we will offer superior quality, material and workmanship.

This project has been on the back burner but since our TRI-Y headers have been copied and are now being offered in a stainless steel, we are making this a priority.

409 stainless steel is mostly carbon steel and will rust. It is inferior to aircraft quality 304 stainless.

Our TRI-Y headers will be made of 304 stainless, from the flange to the collector. Our Tig welds are made by the best welders in the entire North West as they specialize in stainless steel, aluminum and titanium.

We will continue to shine when it comes to
quality, finish work, welding and material.

Up-dates coming soon.

New collector tooling is done and waiting to be hardened. Brandon is still working on the new press. It is taking longer than expected but he basically built the entire press from scratch using various hydraulic fittings, cylinders, etc.

Just the press itself is a work of art and I'll post some pictures of it when complete. We're shooting for Friday again, to make collectors.

Up-date:
well, the press is done, the tooling is done and hardened and stainless tubing is on the way.

We now have to send our clamps out to be coated. We ran into a problem reducing the 3" stainless. Once this last issue is resolved we should be able to make beautiful final collectors. It's always some new issue but that is what pushes us to keep striving to be the best.

wow dan, you, are, amazing!

I'm happy to say our tooling and press worked out as designed. Though we will not have a finished set of 304 stainless TRI-Y's until next week, here are a couple pictures of the collectors we can now produce:

As compared to the final collectors our competitor is capable of producing:

As you can easily see our collectors are perfect! There are no wrinkles and no bulkiness. This will allow for a much nicer finished product which is more visually appealing.

Pictures of our complete 304 stainless TRI-Y's coming very soon.

I'm sorry this took so long guys. Here is what I posted in the exhaust section:

As promised, we took our time on releasing our 304 stainless TRI-Y headers. We were not willing to compromise on forming the collectors. So, we made new forming tools, had them hardened and are now able to form perfect 304 stainless collectors. My computer crashed and I have not been able to up-date my website with pictures. But, Todd was able to post them on another site and I'm happy to let you all take a look at our 304 stainless TRI-Y headers, built by the original manufacturer. We may not have been the first to bring stainless headers to the B-body community but we are certainly bringing the best to you.

And another:

The first set, as shown with polishing, is shipping next week. We have another set going for ceramic coating soon. This set is available.

Since our competitor has chosen to market a little differently than we do, I will follow suit so you guys can compare apples to apples. Well, more like Red Delicious apples to Macintosh apples...

Our 304 stainless TRI-Y headers are $974.00 as compared to our competitors price of $899.00. However, we include the polishing in our price. Our competitor charges an additional $150.00 for the polishing, bringing their total to $1049.00

We both charge the same $45.00 for shipping.

So, besides offering our headers with perfectly formed collectors, I'm happy to be able to offer these for $75.00 less!

Of course you can order the competitors headers without polishing to save some money. But consider this. Order ours without polishing and it drops the price by $30.00. So you only save $45.00 to order a knock-off header. We both have the polishing done by Performance Coatings and, as always, I never mark-up the cost. We both pay $30.00 for the process. I charge the customer $30.00 and our competitor charges $150.00.
Remember I mentioned the difference in marketing?

Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks again for your patience and support!

Dan the man, those are beautiful.

Once again, you have left me speechless with your dedication to our community.

Now where the He!! is my creditcard?
G
I'm glad you like them. This was a long drawn out project we are all happy to see completed.

Thanks for your comments.

I think those headers look smooth, like butter :D !

Good Job CIA!

Thanks KW! We were talking about building a set in titanium next. It wouldn't be cost effective by any means, but it would be nice to show everyone what we are capable of. And talk about a weight savings.

Maybe for my car.

I wonder if there would actually be any interest? I'm afraid to even call for a quote on tubing...

Maybe after we move to the new shop and actually catch-up on current production. They would be great for our display anyways...

No. You will have to:

1. purchase the cat setup from Dan
2. purchase export pipes from Dan
3. make your own.

Thanks guys. No problem on trading steel for stainless. Give me a ring and we can work something out. I do trades all the time for customers.

On the stock cats, the headers come way down past the stock flanges so you need either the hi-flow cats or the cat delete. Or, like Jerry, said, have a local shop do the fab work.

Dan,

I KNOW you have already thought of this but no one has asked yet, That I can tell.

I love the new 304SS Try-Y's, but have you considered, or worked up a price for the 304SS in the New Design Try_Y's that you have comne up with.

Since the New Design will be easier and cheaper to make per your statement, I assume the 304SS may be as well.

I know you are in the process of moving right now and don't have all the resources to work all this out till you are settled in, but the question begs an answer.

From looking at the picture in this thread and the pictures of the new tri-y design, the 304SS is using the new design.
