The throttle is not an on/ off switch. I can “hook” at the drag strip, and I can hook in 3 inches of snow. I’ve been driving a rwd car year round (at 37,000 miles a year) between north Jersey and Poughkeepsie NY since 2007. I’ve never went home early for weather, and never been stuck. Growing up in Illinois (where you are), I learned to drive rwd through all conditions.
