Hi everyone. I recently bought a '92 wagon. Really great condition with 198,000 miles. Everything works pretty much. Even a/c after repllacing the solenoid. But...I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had the original Delco radio. And it is the one with CD/EQUALIZER. I have been trying to find one for my sedan for about a year. I don't have any cassettes,, lol. Probably gonna sway those. Seems pretty simple to do. Now, the meat of the post. The power antenna on the wagon works as an antenna,, but as expected dies not retract. I had to repace the one on the sedan. Quite easy and inexpensive. So...how the heck do I get to this antenna? Looking at the wheel well, it looks llike there may be an access panel,, but I don''t want to start taking things apart if I am not going to get to it. Please tell me I don't have to pull the whole fender off...

Here is step by step instructions. The process is the same for all B-Bodies.

Pretty simple, but a little difficult. The hard part is finding a good replacement. There are parts available from: Caprice Power Antenna Parts 1991-1996, 2210617, 22087015

The cables usually need a little tweaking to get them to fit, and the masts are a little expensive. I have noticed that the new cables only last a couple of years. You can also repair the cable with string trimmer line. Your other option is to buy a used or rebuilt one. Rebuilt ones are about $250. Used ones start at about $100, unless you can get one from a P-N-P junk yard.

I drill out the rivets and use #10 bolts with nylock nuts to reassemble. Make sure you have the gear with the stop tooth in the correct place when reassembling. The finial on the mast can be unscrewed if you put the top section of the mast in a smooth vice, and use a small wrench on the flats to turn it.

Thank you so much. This is all saving me a lot of time and knuckle-busting. Appreciate it.
