OK I am just editing my "Multiple Caprice Owners" Post.

****EDITED BELOW****

I like the car. He will take $3500
Its a 1995 Caprice Classic
V8 4.3L L99 with 80k
White exterior with small dent on drivers rear panel low, one bigger dent same place on drivers side (right behind rear wheels) and this one has the wheel opening molding busted. One more deep scratch drivers fender (retouched poorly). And power antenna broke, but I have one sitting here. ..ASSumming a 91 would work in a 95

Interior is Blue leather and its in good clean cond overall but is dried out so its stiff. No tears/rips. Carpet has some stains but I'd give it a 7.5 of 10. Headliner OK, Visors need redone. Dash clean, no cracks in any plastic. Everything works (full power) and the rear windows DO NOT fall off the tracks.

Trunk had everything

Engine was very very clean and appeared to have everything working...possibly low on tranny fluid. Ran good and strong. AC blew ok/good.

Was a one owner and does have a hitch ( a concern with low miles?)

Frame had some surface rust but is a Cali car.

It seems like a good deal.
I am waiting to sell my Tahoe...Just wanted to hear opinions. Im considering buying it before I sell my H0E

If milage is a concern a L99 car can get great milage when I first got it I was getting about 25mpg fully loaded highway with the AC blasting. In town though the milage drops fast as the little motor is really overworked accelerating such a heavy car with highway gears, drive it hard and the milage drops heavily too. The LT1 cars are usually low to mid 20s on the highway even with a moderately aggressive driver and are the most powerful of the bunch.

Oddly enough I get about the same milage with both my cars even with the extent of the mods on the one. Very high teens for the daily grind and 22-3 out of tanks with more steady higher speed travel, don't do a lot of pure highway driving but a couple months ago went on a LONG trip with the wagon and with a full load and the AC on and treating every toll like a dragstrip tree I got 23mpg. These things wont set any milage records but do well for their weight and power.

When I bought the 96 back in 2000 I already owned a 84 and an 85 both left soon after though and now I have the wagon to go with it. It is great having both a wagon and sedan, the sedan is quicker and the wagon makes a pretty good "truck" and being a Roadmaster has a lot more comforts than the Caprice.

Yes the 4.3L V8 baby LT1 motor. I had a boxy 305 4 barrel car when I bought the L99 car and even though it was heavier the extra HP was evident SOTP though so was the lesser lowend torque. If your 91 is a 305 and you are happy with it you will be happy with a L99 and a few cheap upgrades can make a decent improvement.

I think it is the 8th VIN character is the engine code "W" is for L99, "P" for LT1. The engine "names" are also the option code on the SPID label in the trunk.

I just picked up a nice 94 LT1 9C1 w/77K miles on it. Drove it from PA to NJ and got 24 MPG on the highway. I can't complain with those #'s!

Picked it up for $3500. Rebuilt motor and trans w/ receipts. Car was repainted, not perfect but nice. Body is solid, was a fire chief car, so there is not antenna or spotlight holes.

I looked at a nice 93 LTZ 5.7 one owner senior car with 100K miles blue with blue cloth
she wanted 3000.00 and I could have got it for less

Later that Day I went and looked at the '95 I wound up buying, She was firm @ 4500.00 but it had leather and 42K miles

Had someone said it's a 4.3 after the test drive, I would have said no way As it performed the same if not bettter than the 5.7 LTZ (at least from a 20 mph roll it did)

I'm happy with mine it accelerates better than the '94 1500 blazer I was driving, and the fuel economy is truly stellar in comparrison

I took a trip to Chicago (700+ miles round trip) and got about 28-30mpg with my LT1 Caprice...city is around the 17 or so that they're supposed to get.

It's great, with that 22 gallon tank, I filled up just before Indianapolis, and hit the same exit on the way back to top it off again.

damn i found 2 96,
one new paint black, holes filled with 108k on a LT1 for like 3500

another new paint pink/purple flaked, 85k on LT1 for 4400...both need minor interior work and the "smaller" inside door holes filled by weatherstripping.

But now im considering a 9C1 like this only cuz the new paint

I'm just worried about getting an old cop car and having it **** on me. One was a detective car
