In a few weeks I'm going to rebuild my front end (tierods, centerlink, idler and pitman arms)using GM components.I have a 94 RM wagon with the Buick stabilizier shock with the NV7 gearbox for now. Here's my questions:Will the Buick centerlink work with a SS or aftermarket steering box or would I have to use the SS centerlink? Is the pitman and idler arm also different when using an SS or aftermarket gear box? I'd like to order the new parts once and am concerned if the stock Buick parts will work with the SS or aftermarket stuff down the line.

The Buick Centerlink will work (and uses the same idler and pitman) with the SS box. Should with an aftermarket box too, unless the aftermarket manufacturer did something goofy.

Don't waste your $$ on a new Pitman Arm. It doesn't wear.

Careful, Larry.....

Pitman arm has a tapered-fit hole for the center link that CAN wear. Also, the pitman arm can be bent. Normally I would agree with your assessment, but it's worth checking to make sure tha part is good--I just don't want any/all to think that the pitman arm is "never" a potential source of problems.

Same numbers for Chevy & Buick--did not check Cad, no idea of difference year to year, but the center link did not change.

94 uses 7832199

95-96 uses 26047288

Thanks Guys,That's what I wanted to here-I'm going to order those parts.I also heard that the pitman arm doesn't wear-but I plan on changing everything anyway.I want to get the best possible steering effort I can get and then enjoy and drive my wagon hard! Ed
