Somehow on my 96 RMW, I managed to remove the brace for the evap core and in doing so dislodged the evaporator core seal (the evap core dropped down a bit). It was nearly disintegrating near the junction of the heater core cover so I removed a two inch strip down on the bottom run. Any repercussion with doing this?

Thanks,
robert

Are you referring to the insulation around the hose?

No, This is the foam insulation around the frame of the AC evap core. It's on the right side of the evaporator. I don't really think it matters, but it had dropped down and deteriorated in such a way that it was causing problems of sealing my heater core cover to the box. I just ripped off the 2-3 inch piece that was offending...

I do not know if it will affect the operation of the AC system, but GM put it there for a reason. You can probably get a good one from a junk yard car if you need it.
