Came back from a drive Saturday and when the car was shut off heard the hissing of gas leaking. Seems even though I had checked the AC lines previously they somehow managed to work their way down to the control arm and cut through the suction hose.

Ordered 4 seasons lines from rock auto and replaced them today however the system now will not hold vacuum. When I removed the lines from the compressor, it looked like one of the O rings was stuck on the compressor as I only found one on the lines. Was hard to see for sure, but it appeared to be an O ring on one port. Used a pick to try and grab it without luck. Finally took a picture with my phone and saw that there was no O ring, but now a couple scratches from my being stupid with the pick.

Put the new lines on and pulled a vacuum, but it won't hold so either the new lines are leaking or the scratches in the compressor port are causing the problem.

Attached is a photo, Is the compressor no good now? I did oil up the O rings so that' not the issue!

Regarding the AC lines, is there any particular brand that is recommended? GPD or 4 seasons?

Try putting some UV dye in the system, and get a UV flashlight from Harbor Freight, then check for leaks.

There may be a pair of flat ring gaskets that go on the end of the hose(s), and seal against the flats of the compressor.

Most definitely. My new AC comp came with the two required hose Suction/Discharge gaskets. BTW, are these ring gaskets the same ones used for the cylinder head crossover steam pipe on the back of the heads?

I put those gaskets in... That was what I thought was still in the one port ;)

I'll check things out more in a bit, perhaps my gauge set is leaking or a connection?

I do not know about the crossover pipe, I do not have an LT1 or L99.

Well I must have had a brain fart and had the valves turned off... lol

Evacuated for about an hour and recharged with 28 ounces and back to working great.

I did add about 2 ounces of oil in the suction hose before I connected it to the accumulator, the manual stated to add 3 ounces of oil on a catastrophic failure when you loose all the refrigerant suddenly. I wasn't sure about that amount, took about 20 minutes to leak out and I didn't see any oil residue so I'm pretty sure I'm good there. System is quiet and appears to be running same as before which was excellent.

Thanks for the replies!
