What part of the manifold is the best place to screw in the probe?
I assume you're referring to a coolant temperature gauge?

I chose to put mine into the passenger's side cylinder head, where the OEM sender for the cluster gauge was.

I then bought an F-Body sending unit and replaced the OEM sender in the water pump with this one. I connected the third conductor to the wire that was used for OEM dash gauge.

This allowed me to keep the dashboard gauge functional, and add the aftermarket gauge.

There's a port on driver's side. Since cylinder heads are the same, other is simply facing the opposite direction.

True, when I installed mine, I didn't have all of my 1/2" drive tools, so I didn't have the right tools to remove the plug from the cylinder head. I knew I could get the sending unit out without a problem.

Another thing to consider is if you'll have access/clearance to avoid the exhaust manifolds or headers you have installed.
