Which airlift bags can be used with hotchkis spinrgs? I've searched and searched and come up with a few different answers on this one. Some say the stock SS ones will work, and some say they won't. Some say you need the Kia Sedona airlift bags with the hotchkis springs. I'm thoroughly confused about this one, and every search I do confuses me more. Someone set me straight so I can do this once, and ONLY once for a change. :confused:

Part# 60733 from Air Lift Company.

The bags for stock springs will not work on our Hotchkis.

Justin,

I was talking with Charlie Costelo at his shop the other day and we were discussing this very thing.

I have the Hotchkis Airbags installed in my car now along with a complete Hotchkis Setup, Springs, Sway Bars & Extended Arms. My car rides good but I gained about 1.25" of lift by installing the bags and cannot get the car back down to the lowered stance I had before installing the bags even with all the air out.??

What the current plan is, is to take Charlie's car and put it on a Four Post lift and with the car in this configuration, weight on the suspension with no extras in the trunk, measure the distance between the axle and the upper cup for the rear springs. This measurement will be passed onto Airlift and a specific set of bags will be installed. The reasoning behind doing this is this, It will increase the load carrying capacity of the car without changing the stance, i.e raising the ass into the air too high and all the handling issues that go with that.

Yo E, with the airlift bags your talking about, did your car's ass end get all up in the air like Nemesis was talking about.

If you are using/have factory air compressor, did you modify the spring in the dryer of the compressor? Since the factory compressor only allows it to bleed down to a pressure of around 14 psi, the spring needed to be changed to let it bleed down to 5 psi. Heres a past thread explained by 95wagon. Your height sensor will need adjusting too depending on how much drop you have.

I understand the point you are making but my bags are individualy ported. And I dont have an on-board compressor. Each bag has it's own filler port.
The problem I am having is that the Hotchkis bags / kit I have is a little too tall with the Lowering Springs and no matter what I do the bags will not collapse enough to get my stance back, Unless I put in bags that aren't as tall.

The idea is to put bags in that fit the space between the axle and frame of the car with the car resting on the springs. This way you get the extra load capacity without changing/ raising the stance of the car.

Ok, I understand. Just speaking my mind just in case
I did the same thing when I ordered my airlift 1000. I measured inside spring height at curb height and then called Mike Pung at airlift. Great guy to deal with. Good luck, and I would probably measure with a near empty gas tank too, imo.
