I bought one of the cheap alarms from an auto store, I believe it's a BULLDOG. The thing is way 2 sensitive, even with the sensitivity all the way down. It won't set off by tapping it, but a passing car will set it off. I have the sensor, which is also the siren, mounted near the grill. Any help?

You probaly should try moving it's location for more than one reason, the location it's in now seems to be to sensitive to resonant vibration maybe you can add a few rubber grommets under it's mount to absorb a bit of this, secondly mounting your horn near the grill can make it easy to spot and cut if a would be thief knew what to look for. Or possibly the shock sensor is defective to start with ,you should be able to adjust it.If it's an all-n-one unit take it back to the store for an exchange.

I moved it farthar back, and it seems to be working now. With the sensitivity real high, its only set off by tapping it. Now it hasn't gone off fore no reason.
