Ok. Time to report some news. TOday was a beautiful day, like 60*F, so naturally my mechanic instinct came alive. And what did I end up with at the end of the day, you say? Well, let me answer that question.... I changed the FRONT LEFT spring on the caprice. WHOOOHOOOO!!!!! Yeah!!! UH!!!!! It took me all of 3.5 hours to do one side. But I freaking did it!! I'm freaking happy!!! TOmorrow the right front is gonna be done also. I estimate it'll take me no more than an hour and a half to do that. I know all the tricks and stuff. I'm happy it's lowered already, tho the swaybar is trying to even out the car.

Hey thanks Randode for offering your help, I really appreciate that, but as is, it seems like I'll be done, and the car will be aligned in time when I leave for so cal. I'm taking the caprice, so....

Hey maybe we can hook up and chill out....

ok, It is done, gentlemen. The right side actually took me like 3 hours. More than I expected. The funny thing is, on the left side I had trouble getting the bolt out, but putting the arm back in and the bolts was a breeze. Today it was exactly the opposite. I got the bolts out in under 20 minutes, but putting it back up was a little jacked. Oh well. I'm off to drive thru potholes and what not. Thanks guys for all the support and the knowledge.

And Mike454SS: Dude, put the freaking springs in yourself and save some $300 bux.

Congrats, I always love the satisfaction I get out of working on MY car and knowing that the job WILL be done right....because I did it!

And as you point out : the more work you do yourself, the more cash it saves you and the more mods you can get

Dude, I tried to do the power steering pump last sunday, and I couldn't get the lines unhooked form it, so I couldn't get it out of the car. I'm taking the car in to get that fixed in a week, when I'm off from school, I think I'm just gonna tell them to put in the springs and allign it too. I wanna save the money, but I don't have enough time to figure out the springs, and the PS pump shouldn't be hard, I'm not afraid to do it, but I wasn't able to when I got in there.

Dude: If you cant get the lines out, use an extending arm to get more leverage. Buddy if my puny 150 lb frame was able to get the lower A-arm bolts out, i'm pretty sure I can take out any bolt on my car. Now unless you are punier than me, you might have some problems, but give it a thought.

It took me about 7 hours total being below the car, pretty much. But the satisfaction is incredible. Also did you use plenty of Liquid Wrench? Did you use a hammer to gently tap the bolt or nut?
