Ok I saw this randomly searching, but just want a legit confirmation. I'm putting a switch in line for the power antenna. Going to run the switch into the ash tray, so I can keep the antenna down when I'm not using the radio, which will be never.

What color wire in the factory harness back there triggers the antenna? I read green, but there are two different green's back there I saw...

Anybody know 100% which wire I need to focus on here?

step 4

Unwrap the black tape from the emerging harness and look at the wires coming from the lower connector. Find the smaller of the 2 dark green wires from the back of the antenna relay and find a good place to cut into the wire to put a switch in the circuit. This dark green wire is connected to the radio at pin 8 of the C1 connector, then it goes over to pin E7 of the big C200 connector under the LH side of the dash, and from there it goes to the Power Antenna Relay connector at pin B.

Ok so I looked into this and have the harness all ready to dig into. I found two dark green wires, they both look the same size and both look to be in the 8th spot.

Is the harness numbered or something to ID the 8th plug? Just don't want to cut the wrong wire... Thank you!

This is an awesome stealth mod.I've done it to 4 of my B cars.

It's the black radio plug,cut the smaller of the 2 greens.


This should have been standard configuration from GM,imho.I play CD's w/antenna down,listen to radio w/ant up.No brainer.

Any way good luck hope this helps. Jim
