I am getting a code 42 and check engine light on a 1994 buick roadmaster wagon.

I was changing the coil and ICM with one from a 1995 f-body, to see if it helped with a miss/stumble.

Ok, I put the original back on the code went away. I also tried to test the EGR valve. I pressed on what I think was the diaphram and had no change.

The only other code I have seen as been one for EGR.

Sounds like it's time for an EGR valve.

That is what I am thinking. The code for EGR have been only hit or miss but they do come back.

Question, when you reach into the openings of the EGR should you be able to move the metatl piece inside?
