Exactly that. I have never seen it and dont even know what it is really and I wanted to check it out.

I'm kind of confused. 'Baffle board' is often used as a generic term for the front face (baffle) of a speaker, regardless of the material. There might be some kind of material marketed as 'baffle board' but I've been building speakers for about five years now and haven't heard of such a thing. The best material to make 'baffle boards' is MDF, since it is readily available (Home Depot), dense and non-resonant, and has no voids or air spaces inside. I make home speakers using 3/4" for the sides and back, 1-1/2" (two 3/4" pieces laminated together) for the front baffle. Hope that helps.

The "Baffle Board" is a piece of 1/2" Birch Plywood covered in factory trunk liner. I cut 10" holes in it by request. It is 11" tall and 46" wide. Here is a picture:
