OK so I have a question I am parting out a 96 Cadillac fleetwood and have removed all the HVAC equipment from it the question is can I install this unit as a whole and use the wiring harness adaptor sold else where and make this work or should I try to use all the OEM cadillac wiring if so can anyone supply the wiring schematic for the cadillac and Impala tbanks for any help you fellas can supply

Well, depends on what you mean by caddys wiring.

Can you remove the Instrument Panel harness and swap it out for your Impala's IP harness? No. The caddy does all kinds of different things than the Impala does.

Can you take a razor blade, and remove the E-tape from the caddy IP harness, then remove each and every wire that doesn't contain to the A/C system, then wire that into your car? Yes.

That adapter harness wont work for you, and you wont really need it, as you'll already most needed wiring.

You'll have to wire the A/C request, Interior lights, Power (both switches and constant) ground, etc...

Looking good man. Interface wiring should be easy, you did the hard part of getting it all wired up. Bet you are going to find that you only need to hook up the entire setup to power and ground and you will be all set. ;)

Mike,sir, you...

are the f**kin MAN!

wound up finally getting the time to do this swap and if it wasnt for the pictures i would have passed. Also a round of applause to member dabysan(also in this thread) because i totally flew by the post of the additional wires that are in the harness but not listed in one of the wiring diagrams for the 96 Climate control.
luckily i had grabbed several of each part from roadys that have come in to the yards because some of my parts took a dump on me. (gotta love having backups)

the only thing im stuck on and hopefully you can give me some insight is
-Lt Blue/Blk d15 Gnd for rear Window Defogger Relay.
are you taking off the relay looking thing from the manual unit and tying it in or is some other way being used?

thanks again Mike.

If I remember right the RMS' s relay for defroster is down by the blower motor near the "A" pillar. Pretty sure I used this location as well and just extended the wires from the original relay on the original head to the new location

Was the plug n play harness ever made. Ima take this on within the next week!
even with the roady harness their is no plug and play you would still need to splice in about 10 wires to the impala/caprice harness. not that hard once you see where they are at. im tryin to get the last pictures for a writeup on this. hope to have it done in a week.
