Heed the warning on the defective BMR red poly control arm bushings from the 2nd quarter of 2002. Mine were crumbling after only 2,000 miles of easy driving.

Two quick questions: First: Is there any way to check the condition of the bushings without removing the LCA? I took a quick look at mine the other day and it appears that the bushing is hidden by the mounts. Second: Anybody know if the Global West Del-A-lum bushings and spherical bearings would fit in the BMR LCAs as replacements? I looked at the pictures on their website, but just couldn't tell. Thanks.

Erik, I could tell that one bushing was bad. The outer lip started splitting off the main body of the bushing. All the other bushings didn't show any signs until I pulled the control arms off. Then I saw that EVERY bushing was cracked and/or deformed.

I highly doubt that the GW bushing will fit in the BMR control arms....

Thanks. I think you're right about the GW bushings. The spherical bearing looks like it fits into a specially shaped end of the LCA.

BMR is a stand-up vendor in my opinion. When I called and gave them the date on my invoice they said I was on the border line and in three days I had my new bushings. When I checked the bushings they are starting to come apart and I drive pretty easy. Don't delay make the call.

I just got my replacement bushings. The car has become almost scarey to drive due to the rear end shifting

I'll be changing them out tonight. Emailed BMR last week and bushings were there ~5 days later, no questions asked. I bought mine in Q1 of 2002.

I'm affraid to see what they actually look like though.

It went well, the old ones were very 'squishy' though. Easily manipulated with just fingertips. There was a sign they were cracked, but supprisingly seemed to be in 'good' shape. Based on how it felt, I figured they were going to be real bad.

The car is totally different now!

BMR sent me to bushings to replace mine as well. No problems at all.

The worse ones for me was the body side upper control arm bushings - they were 1/2 gone!!!
I remembered when I installed these it felt like my car was "walking" in the rearend. I even posted about it trying to find out what was wrong.
