My NCSHP then winter-driven NY 9c1 has begun bubbling rust from the base of the B-pillars and behind that black plastic trim.

Is this something I could clean up from the inside and be done with for a few years? It isn't spongy- yet.

There are 3 seperate pieces of steel in that area. In typical GM fashion the whole area is poorly sealed against water intrusion.

Remove the plastic and see just how bad it is. Sometimes it is minor, like on my wagon.

Once cleaned you will get the full scope of damage as mine has one piece of steel rotting.

The others are solid so I just plan on removing more of the rotted portion and replacing with some new metal. Of course it may turn out to be worse once I dig into it more. This area can turn very nasty very quickly if left unchecked.
