What a show! Between HACK and I, I think we have almost 200 pictures in 2 days of Cool Sh!t ! Where to begin...

The Marauder
This is definitely going to be a cool car. We talked at great length with a Team Marauder member who worked on developing the car's drivetrain. It was nice to hear his words: "GM got the Impala SS right." In fact, he told us that they purchased 3 used Impala SS's to use as benchmarks during their design of the Marauder! They took the 1996 Impala SS sticker price, adjusted for inflation from 1996 to 2002-03, and that's how they priced the Marauder. One exterior color: black, with 2 interior color options. GM sure is stubborn...

Brake Upgrades
There may be a "new guy" entering the scene of brake upgrades for the Impala SS / Chevy truck. Right now they are marketing to the 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern guys (Vette, Camaro, streed rod, etc.) HACK may be helping out in this area. The rep asked HACK to send an Impala spindle / rotor assembly for them to work on. If things work out, there could be a very nice, effective brake upgrade with good looks and a price point that will look good too!

Too much to comprehend, much less tell you about!
About everything you've ever thought of doing, they were there! Comp Cams, Crane Cams, NOS, Hughes Performance, Nitrous Expresss, CNC Cylinder Heads, Suspension Techniques... The list goes on and on. [/list]

Hopefully, HACK and I will have pics of the show up soon. I gotta start saving up my money again for more mods! Vegas is still very efficient at taking your money if you give them the chance!

I am still here having a great time. I will be returning to San Diego tomorrow. Wednesday several Impala owners meet at Macaroni’s Grill for conversation and dinner. Then last night we meet at Hooters with even more Impala owners. Pictures of all the SS’ with the Hooter girls will be posted soon!!

I was really bummed that Hack and Hoosker didn’t make the gatherings though!!

All in all what a great experience I have had during the past week. But DAMM my feet hurt from walking!!!!

I was glad to meet several new Impala owners during the course of the week and turn them on to the ISSCA movement that is still sweeping the nation. After meeting Sam Smith and his associates I came away thing wow what an awesome SS he has not to mention people this dude is huge!!

Two thumbs up for Jose and getting everyone together!!

Well time to call Jose and see what is in store for tonight!! You will see me back here in 2 weeks for the Super Chevy Show!!

If it's the same 'vette, it was indeed a GM project car with a 427" in it. There's a writeup in the next-to-latest Super Rod, with another modified (mid-engine) 'vette on the cover.

I'm starting to agree. A friend of mine in FL has a '94 SS too, and he's going to either get a Marauder or an M5 (but will keep the SS). And, as read above, Ford bought three SS's to use as a benchmark while making the Marauder! For me, I'd probably not buy a "version 1.0" and wait til the second model year (assuming I could afford one). Nice cars though. I hope they sell well and that GM realizes their mistake. :(

Just got back LATE last night. I ended up heading out on Thursday evening, got to the Hooter's gathering about 10PM or so.

Did SEMA on Friday, have about 50 pics of my own (hope to post later this week). I will DEFINITELY be going back next year!

The Marauder is very nice. Still remains to be seen what powerplant ends up in the production version, but if they keep the 300 HP 32-valve one they will have done the right thing. I'm sure that GM will come out with some chrome wheel package or something on the Wimpala in order to "compete" (and I use that term loosely
).

Spent the rest of the weekend in Vegas, there are worse places to spend a weekend :D

And to top it all off, my new Forgelines were waiting in the garage when I got home Sunday night. Needless to say, I HAD to throw them on the car :D

Tom had his car in Vegas, but it was not "in" the SEMA show.

Only SS I saw the entire time in the show was one that was parked just outside the convention center door : it was a BBB with big wheels, Baer Brakes, some other bolt ons, and a RED (and I mean COMPLETELY RED) interior. I like red and black together, but that was WAY too much red for me :D

Not sure on her exact age, but I think it's safe to say she's a lot closer to 60 than she is to 30
. She had the looks of someone who had, ummm, "live life to the fullest" so to speak. Still, she was really cool and very nice.
