Trying to help a friend out but this one has me stumped......

1995 Impala DCM SS with mild mods and supporting PCM tune. He says it drives fine most of the time, but every now and then it coughs out of the intake when he tries to floor it. We checked over the plug wires and coil wire right off the bat. Plugs are only a few months old as well as an MSD cap and rotor, and Racetronix pump and wiring harness. The fuel filter was replaced at the same time. I've checked everything I can think of. When I drove it, there's just a little hesitation off the line if you just roll into the throttle. If you stab it to the floor, it bogs and coughs and then takes off like a bat outta hell.
What should I look at next?

Low fuel pressure can also cause this.

True ~ a failing fuel pump in our Suburban did the same thing which is why I replaced the pump in the Caprice but it wasn't the problem.

Carlton ~ so you're the user that prevented me from using Carlton [also my name] as a user ID :)
