can anyone give me an idea as how to remove the upper and lower balljoints, and how hard is it to reinstall the new ones. secondly can you just press in the upper and lower control arm bushings or do they have to be machined in?

You can replace the upper BJ yourself. The stock ones are rivetted in and you will have to drill those out. Not much fun but pretty straight forward. Just don't drill into the UCA by accident. for the lower ball joints and CA bushings I would just remove the LCA and take it into a shop to remove and replace the bushings and ball joints. The bushings especially are a pain to remove and replace.
