·I just put the SS rims on the 9c1 and it was begging to get lowered. So I cut the front coils and put Moog cc627 springs on the rear. I removed the rear spring isolators.
I took one inch short of a full coil off of the stock 9C1 coil which made for a little more than a two inch drop. The rear dropped two inches exactly.
The front wheel well was 28 3/8 off the ground and now is 27 1/4". The rear was 27 1/2" and now is 26 1/2".
I tried the Scott Mueller method of taking the front coils out. I disconnected the stabilzer endlinks and removed the shocks. Than I removed the lower control arm inner bushing bolts. No need to break the ball joints free. It's a little tricky getting the control arm back on but with help from one of my sons it wasn't too bad.
Drove it around the block and I really like it.
It came out exactly how I wanted it too.
