Im in the process of installing the 2 inch drop spindles for 92-96 caprice on my 93 LTZ. i got to the point where im putting my spindle castle nut on after the brakes but the nut doesn't fit. the threads on the spindles are friggin metric. 1.25 mm between threads. so im thinking maybe they switched in 94 to metric for the impala. if anybody has had this problem let me know. i will be checking with gm to see if they have new castle nuts to fit these spindles

I think he's talking about the castle nut on the end of the spindle (the one that retains the outer bearing), not the ones on the ball joints.

Ahh, I see.

As far as I know, GM never switched. Sounds like Belltech should have included the correct castle nuts if they went with something non-standard here....

yeah it was the nut on the end of the spindle. gm said they had no idea. belltech said they had no idea. they told me ship them back to jegs but i already had one side done and the other disassembled so we did the math and figured out that the threads were close enough to file them down slightly, then use emory paper on them, then use valve grinding compound on them and now all is well. belltech messed up but it was fixable if you know what you are doing.
