I recently purchased a 1994 SS that was in an accident and was totaled by the ins. company. After buying the car I quickly realized that it needed a new frame. So I stripped off the mangled front clip, pulled the engine, and had the car towed to a local shop here in Miami for just that. Well after getting the car back, upon further inspection, I noticed that there were missing body bushings, and the ones that were still intact were all cracked and stretched out. I also noticed that most of the bolts that held the body tho the frame were loose to the point where I could actually move the body about a 1/4 inch from side to side on the frame. Then I recently read an article by a man named Scott Mueller,in which he talks about a mod that replaces the lower body bushings, and tightens the body to the frame. After reading his article, I went to GM and purchased the firmer, green and pink colored bushings, but what should I do about the upper bushings, which look crushed and worn out. I am now thinking that I moved too quickly on buying the bushings from the dealer. I didn't even know about the Energy Suspension Bushing Set that has all of the upper bushings in it as well. What is my best option at this point. Now that I have the new lower bushings, but still need the upper ones. And also how would I change the upper ones. The whole chassis would have to come off the frame again, how could I do that from my house. Where do I go from here.......????? I don't want the car back at the same body shop, they SUCK, and don't speak good english. Why didn't I take Spanish 2.
