I need the sensor that is located on top of the brass looking block on the pass side of the tranny. Tranny cooler lines go into it.

one day when I had the car on a hoist I noticed mine was hanging on by tape the connector was, Whats the point of this sensor and what could it effect if its not plugged in or working?

At 327F this sensor grounds its input wire, telling the PCM that the transmission is hot. Disconnecting the sensor merely keeps the PCM from ever getting that signal.
